报告人简介:

Jose G. Vasconcelosis Professor of Civil Engineeringat Auburn University. Currently the leader of the Hydraulic Research Group at Auburn University, focusing on multi-phase flow simulation of entrapped air pockets and lock exchange flows.

He has been a major contributor to: Development of the Two-Component Pressure Approach, a modeling framework that enables the Saint-Venant Equations to simulate pressurized flows and still retain the capability of simulating sub-atmospheric unsteady flows in closed conduits.

Surge and Hydraulic Analysis For Tunnels (SHAFT) used in the simulation of large below-grade stormwater storage systems in Washington, DC; London, UK; St. Louis, MO; among other systems. Development of experimental investigation on the intensity of surges in stormwater tunnels, mechanisms for air pocket entrapment, kinematics of entrapped air pockets and pressure surges linked to entrapped pockets. He is associate editor in the Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (ASCE) and the Journal of Water Management Modeling (CHI).
